Planning A Galentine's Event For The Girls

Every year, I like to give myself a little passion project. For me, that obviously means I go all out and throw a big party. (Obviously!) It gives me a reason to play creatively, love on past clients, and dream up something fun that women in Jacksonville actually want to show up for. This one became We Do Redo — an all-girls night out at The Lark, built around one simple idea: what if you got to redo the fun parts of a wedding?

My vision was for women to show up in their wedding dress, a thrifted dress, a borrowed dress, or any white outfit that made them feel fabulous. Married, single, divorced, engaged, never married — it didn’t matter. This was an event to celebrate ourselves, celebrate each other, stuff our faces, and dance the night away.And boy, did we!

Dreamy, Fun, And Full Of Personality

From the second women walked in, the whole night felt like permission to be a little extra. Dresses came back out. Champagne and mocktails were poured. The room was bold, girly, and dramatic in all the right ways, with just enough wedding reception energy to make everyone feel like the night was for them.

The best part was watching everyone fully lean into it

And You Know It Wouldn't Be A Red Velvet Collective Event Without The Goodies

From red velvet treats and chocolates to red wedding ring pops. Champagne towers to pizza, and even a red velvet cake. There were plenty of extra little nods to the theme...but the details were never the whole point.

The point was to design a room where girls can be girls -  eat, drink, dance, and have one epic night out.

Women were posing on red velvet couches, fixing each other’s dresses, hyping each other up, taking photos under the “Endless Love” sign, eating pizza in their wedding gowns, and dancing on the black and white checkerboard dance floor like the whole point of the night was to have fun. Because it was.

We Do Redo kicked off what’s now my yearly tradition: throwing a girls’ night that gives women a reason to get dressed up and go out with their girlfriends. Since then, I’ve also thrown a Taylor Swift party and a My Favorite Things PJ dance party.
