The Details
Epping Forest Yacht Club is one of those Jacksonville wedding venues that already feels special the moment you step on the ground. The mansion, the water views, the old Florida charm, the lawn overlooking the river — it’s elegant without feeling stuffy. And for our bride, Jackielyn, it felt like home. Her dad was a chef at Epping Forest, so she had tons of cherished memories tied to this place before it ever became her wedding venue.
Our fun-loving couple, Jackielyn and Allan, hired us for full-service wedding planning, which meant we got to be part of the whole experience from the menu tasting to the flowers to the final design details. With a chef for a dad, you know the menu was a big deal. We made sure it felt personal for this couple. And yes, that meant the Kahlua cake made the cut, because obviously it had to!
The whole day started with the easiest, sweetest energy. They each got ready in the mansion's his and her suites, laughing, snacking, and keeping the morning relaxed before everything officially began. It set the tone for the entire wedding. Calm, personal, beautiful, and very them.
Before the ceremony, Jackielyn and Allan snuck away for the cutest, most intimate first look in a private outdoor spot under the magnolia trees by the water. They read private vows to each other, and I swear they could not stop smiling! Those are the kinds of moments that make the whole day slow down for just a second.
Then it was time for the ceremony out on the lawn overlooking the water. The weather was perfect, the sunset was showing off, and Jackielyn walked down the aisle to their favorite rap song because who says your wedding processional has to be traditional? I love when couples choose the thing that feels like them, and this was such a fun little surprise that made the ceremony feel personal from the first note.
And after a brief sneak away, where the married couple took a romantic, sunset stroll by the water, everyone got ready for the afterparty. One of my favorite parts of the day was watching Jackielyn’s dad film everything on his phone and the cutest little camcorder. Because that’s what this really is. A wedding is beautiful, yes. But it’s also an experience. It’s a memory your people want to keep, replay, laugh about, cry over, and hold onto long after the last drink is poured.
And if the little details are your thing, you're not going to want to miss this one. Part of the full-service wedding planning is the wedding florals. Instead of doing the same bridesmaid bouquets across the board, Jackielyn wanted some special way to make her bridesmaids understand how important they were to her. So, we ditched the traditional bouquets and had each of her five bridesmaids carry a wicker basket with a different white flower.
Then we designed Jackielyn's bouquet with all of those flowers together into one stunning bridal arrangement. It was such a sweet way to make each bridesmaid feel a little different while still keeping everything cohesive and classic.
During the whole process of planning the wedding, she made it happen & she was good at communicating when it came to anything. I can’t even explain into words on how she did an amazing job even during the day of the wedding. She truly made my wedding vision come to life! I wouldn’t chose anybody else to trust during this whole journey <3
